The 10 commandments

Don't fall in love! - These girls will work their magic and be pulling on your heartstrings by the time you have to go home. Switch off the emotions.


  • Buy a sim card when you get to Thailand, and throw it out after. Best way to give you a clean slate if you throw away your only form of contact.


  • Always agree on a price before handing over cash. This goes for girls, transport, and shopping. And remember to barter.

  • Set yourself a budget, and stick to it. Ignore the ATM's and foreign exchange places unless it is an emergency.

  • Beware of jet ski scams. Some will accuse you of damage to the jet ski, and you will have to pay a fee - usually around 10,000 Baht. Then you will probably be breaking the previous commandment.

  • Don't drink tap water, and be careful with ice (as it is probably not bottled water). The safest thing to drink is alcohol. But make sure you do keep hydrated with bottled water. If you are not used to a humid environment, it will take your body a bit to getting used to.

  • Try a bit of everything, including the attractions in and around Pattaya. It breaks the monotony.

  • Wrap up - protection is everything. On this note, make sure you get your own condoms. I would also recommend getting a standard checkup when you get home. 

  • Do not abuse Kamagra or Viagra, despite the fact that dying naked and doing something you love isn't a bad way to die. . . Going out prematurely to a heart attack probably isn't ideal.

  • Have fun, and look after your mates.
